The Air Force Ball was to celebrate the Air Force's 62nd birthday, honor all those who serve our country, and to listen to a very special guest speaker, Ret Col Leo "Cadillac" K. Thorsness. Ret Col Leo Thorsness was awarded the Medal of Honor for valor during the Vietnam War. He was later shot down spent six years in captivity in North Vietnam as a POW (prisoner of war).
